Pair this crispy pork belly with our chili oils. You won't regret it!
Ingredients
- Pork belly about 2lbs (center cut, skin on)
- Soy Sauce
- Salt
- Pepper
- Kimura Chili Oil or D'arce Chili Oil
Instructions
- Lay down pork belly skin side up. Poke tiny holes on pork belly skin with a pairing knife. This is going to create that bubbly, crackling pork skin. Next, make cuts vertically across the skin. This will make it easier to slice the pork belly once the skin is crispy.
- Grab a decent amount of salt and sprinkle it on top of the skin. This is going to draw out the moisture from the skin. You want your pork belly skin to have minimum moisture. That is the key to that cwispy skin!
- Flip over the pork belly and rub some soy sauce and cracked pepper.
- Place pork belly in the fridge, skin side up for 6-12 hours.
- Take pork belly out of fridge and place it in the oven at 350 F for about 3 hours.
- Finish the pork belly by turning your oven into broil mode so the skin crisps up even more. This is where the magic happens.
- Take the pork belly out of the oven and go to town on your pork belly with some of our chili oil (Kimura Chili Oil or D'arce Chili Oil).
